73 countries has already supported campaign to strip Russia of veto power in the UN Security Council

Already 73 countries support the initiative to deprive Russia of veto right in the UN Security Council, if the conflict has gained particular cruelty, Yuriy Sergeyev the permanent representative of Ukraine at the UN said in his Twitter
Russia to be stripped of veto power

73 countries supported the initiative to strip Russia of veto power in the UN Security Council, if the conflict became particularly rigid, passes Joinfo.ua.

On Wednesday morning there were only 67 of them. This initiative was proposed by the Government of France. No country has the right to block decisions of the majority of Security Council members in cases of voting on a particularly difficult conflict, France said. Earlier, President Poroshenko proposed to deprive Russia of the right of veto when it comes to conflicts in which this country participates.

Within two years, Moscow has vetoed the Security Council resolution for four times. One resolution stated as invalid the results of psevdoreferenduma in Crimea in March last year, the other initiated the establishment of an international tribunal to investigate the disaster of Malaysian Boeing in the Donbas.

It should be recalled  that the 70 th session of the UN General Assembly started in New York City on September 16. Among other things, Russia voting behavior will be discussed, that earlier vetoed the proposal to create an international tribunal to investigate the collapse of the Malaysian airliner “Boeing-777″ in the Donbass.

As you know, this summer, the Netherlands initiated the creation of an international tribunal under UN Security Council in the case of a passenger plane “Boeing 777″. Later this idea was supported by Malaysia, Australia, Belgium, Britain and France. However, during the vote in the UN regarding the establishment of tribunal to prosecute those responsible for the catastrophe Russia vetoed the decision, what, according to most international experts and politicians, in fact confirmed its involvement in the collapse of the airliner.

The Kremlin rejects all accusations of Russian soldiers involvement to the downed “Boeing”. However, even the Russian experts came to the conclusion that the most probable reason for the crashed “Boeing 777″ in the Donbass is the undermining of surface-to-air missile 9M38M1 from the anti-aircraft missile systems “Buk-M1″.
