The OSCE has refused to monitor the pseudoelections in the DPR and LPR. The OSCE Mission will not take part in the monitoring of the so-called pseudoelections the militants controlled by Russia are planning to organize in the Donetsk and Luhansk republics. It was announced by the head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission Tana de Zulueta at a press conference in Kyiv, Joinfo.ua reports.

The Head stressed that the mission works at the local elections in Ukraine on the invitation of the Ukrainian government according to its own methodology.

“One of the principles of the OSCE is that we always work at the invitation of a member state of the organization,” de Zulueta explained.

Answering the question of whether the OSCE observers can participate in the monitoring of the psevdoelections in the DPR and LPR, Zulueta said “no.”

“We can not accept the invitation of some formation, which is not a member state of the OSCE, and which can not provide the necessary conditions for the organization and conduction of elections,” said the head of the mission.
