President Vladimir Putin is trying to patch up economic hole with questionable ‘Chinese threads’ – expert

The Russian Federation has found itself in the economic 'hole' as it has not yet acquired the Asian markets, but began losing the European ones. Thus, Russia's economy is now falls between two stools: it has not had time to sit on one of them, as the other one is already slipping from under it.

This opinion was expressed by Professor of the Higher School of Economics and Russian politician Vladimir Ryzhkov, while commenting on the complex political and economic triangle of Washington-Beijing-Moscow, as well as economic relations between Russia and China, Joinfo.ua reports referring to 9tv.co. The Russian President Vladimir Putin also understands that at this stage for Beijing, the U.S. markets are of higher priority than the Russian ones.

Thus, Russia is not China’s main economic partner, and this situation is unlikely to ever change. At the same time President Vladimir Putin understands that China is interested in the Russian Federation primarily as in a geopolitical and military-political partner.

Earlier, it was reported that the Russian market will be open for Vietnam thanks to the Free Trade Agreement with the EAEC. Accordingly, Russia’s economy will receive a fresh, revitalizing “injection”. This opinion was expressed by experts. This agreement will enter into force starting next year. Earlier, in an interview with the Vietnamese edition of Le Courrier du Vietnam, Deputy Head of the Department of Trade of Vietnam Ta Hoang Linh said that the new format of relations will open a market with huge potential for Vietnam.
