As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Russia, President Vladimir Putin has ordered to start testing the combat capability of the Central Military District of Russia, said Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu at a meeting with the leaders of the army, Joinfo.ua reports citing Russian media.
“In accordance with his (Putin – Ed.) decree, starting from 9:30 a.m. Moscow time, district troops, part of the air forces of other military districts, Airborne Troops and Transport and Military Aviation are put in full combat readiness,” said the Russian Defense Minister.
The territory of the Russian Federation is divided into four military districts – Western, Eastern, Central and Southern, to which ground forces are attached to. These districts have various military units, formations and structures of the Ministry of Defense on their territories. The Central Military District covers the territory of Siberia, the Volga region and the Urals.
It should be recalled that last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China, where he signed a number of important agreements, including a contract on the building of a gas pipeline and oil trade.
