Putin demanded to strictly abide the terms of building a bridge from Russia to annexed Crimea across the Kerch Strait: the project being finished to the end of 2018, reports Joinfo.com citing Russian media.

“Obviously, the ports of the Crimea will work at full power only when there is a bridge across the Kerch Strait. I hope that the construction period would be maintained. At the end of 2018, this strategic object to be completed,” – said Putin.

However, he added, that the construction of the bridge, in general, the development of railway and other transport infrastructure of the south of the Russian Federation requires a significant financial investment. “Meanwhile, our fiscal space, they are always limited. Therefore, we must think about how to encourage additional investment, and at the same time increase the responsibility of ongoing projects to not become long-term constructions,” – said Putin.

He called unacceptable the increase in costs of construction. “This won’t be acceptable,” – the president said.

August 17 Russian occupation administration in Kerch proudly reported that the first spile of the future bridge across the Kerch Strait was set.

According to the draft of the bridge across the Kerch Bay, transport transition should include travel for road transport with four traffic lanes and two railway ways.
