Authorities of the unrecognized Donetsk Republic are going to remove the memorials to the victims of Holodomor and political repressions from the controlled territories, Joinfo.ua reports.

The corresponding decision was taken yesterday at the so-called ‘plenary session’ of the ‘DPR People’s Council.’ The idea of demolishing the monuments was initiated by the ‘DPR deputy’ Valery Skorokhodov.

“This proposal arose due to the fact that the monuments were erected without approval of the territorial community and is aimed at establishing historical justice. Also, in the prescribed manner we offer to take additional measures to dismantle monuments and memorials to the victims of political repressions and Holodomor in the town of Snizhne,” he said.

Others ‘deputies’ present at the meeting supported Skorokhodov with unanimous vote.

Thus, various research on political repressions and Holodomor in the Soviet Union, which are generally recognized facts worldwide, are removed from the historical memory of the population of the occupied territories. We can only guess what the so-called ‘DPR deputy’ meant by ‘restoration of historical justice.’
