Ukraine will introduce martial law if Russian troops begin offensive – Turchynov

Ukraine will have to declare martial law in the event that Russia starts to "use its power in the Donbas more actively." This was announced by Oleksandr Turchinov, Secretary of the RNBO of Ukraine, at the firing ground in the Kyiv region.

According to Turchynov, Ukraine will introduce martial law and carry out powerful mobilization of the existing potential, if Russia starts to “use its forces in the Donbas more actively,” Joinfo.ua reports.

“I want to say that if Russia derails the Minsk Agreement (and, unfortunately, today everything is done for it), we will act according to the challenges our country will face. If there will be an active use of the Russian troops, of course, we will be forced to declare martial law and carry out more powerful mobilization of the full potential of the country,” he said.

He also noted that every day the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination informed the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission about shelling of populated neighborhoods by the militants.

It should be recalled that Dmitry Tymchuk, the coordinator of the Information Resistance group,  said that the enemy continued to feed reinforcement to the settlement of Novolaspa and Starolaspa, apparently, in an attempt to get revenge. As it is known, on August 10, the militants tried to storm the positions of the Ukrainians near Novolaspa, as a result, 136 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and the troops retreated in panic.
