The entourage of the Russian President Vladimir Putin is dissatisfied with the restrictive measures imposed by the West and with the policy failures in Ukraine, says he Russian political analyst Andrey Piontkovsky, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Apostrophe.
According to the analys, the Chairman of the Presidential Administration, Sergey Ivanov, is considered as a likely replacement of Putin.
“In the case of Putin’s resignation, Sergey Ivanov is a likely figure of the leader. Formally, he holds a non-political position – the Head of the Presidential Administration. Nevertheless, he constantly gives foreign media the interviews of conciliatory nature, hinting that he may be a constructive partner for the West,” he said.
“For example his (Ivanov’s- Ed.) famous statement for Financial Times:« What are you worried about some military situation, we are pugs compared to NATO elephant. ” This is a kind of signals he is constantly sending to the West,” Piontkovsky argues.
Earlier we reported that at a meeting of the Security Council, the Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the attacks in the Donbas. During the meeting, the Ukrainian military was blamed for revitalization of attacks in the Donbas.
