Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers and National Security and Defence Council agree upon new sanctions against Russia

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers will approve a package of new sanctions against the Russian Federation and give it to the National Security and Defence Council. It was announced by the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk during a government session.

According to Arseniy Yatseniuk, today the Cabinet will approve a package of new sanctions against Russia and send it to the National Security and Defence Council, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the press service of the Cabinet.

“Expanded sanctions against the Russian Federation imposed by the U.S. government came into force yesterday. Today the Cabinet of Ministers approves additional second, advanced package of sanctions and sends them to the National Security and Defense Council,” he said.

It should be recalled that on August 11 there came into force the expanded U.S. sanctions against Russia. On July 30, it became known that the European sanctions against Russia were supported by six countries – Ukraine, Montenegro, Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The decision of the European Union to extend the restrictive measures until June 23, 2016 was adopted by the EU Council on June 19, 2015
