The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania has announced a special grant of $ 500 thousand aimed at creating anti-Russian propaganda projects in the Baltic States, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Izvestiia.

This project will be participated by both beginner and accomplished Russian-speaking journalists and other media experts working on the Russian periphery.

Since the Russian propaganda and false information is increasing, the media in all three countries need the skills and tools of confrontation – a convincing news journalism based on facts.

The U.S. Departmentof State suggests that the program will last 12 months, during which the participants will attend seminars and trainings in all three Baltic countries.

The Department of State also plans to hold study trips to the U.S. for visiting editorial offices and journalism schools, familiarization with new models of financing, supply of high-quality content in the digital era, as well as for development of critical thinking.

Participants of the program with “realistic ideas of investigative projects” will be given cash prizes.
