The DPRK authorities have decided to pull back  the current time zone by half an hour to get rid of the “colonial legacy of Japan, Yahoo News reports with reference to the local media, Joinfo.ua informs.

The new time takes effect August 15, on the 70th anniversary of liberation from the Japanese authorities. At the moment, the time zones of North Korea and South Korea coincide with Japan and is GMT + 9.

South Korea (Republic of Korea) is not going to change the time zone. The Minister of  for the reunification of the Republic of Korea said that the actions of their northern neighbors have a negative impact on the work of the joint industrial parks located on the border between the two Koreas.
