Only the UN Security Council can ensure the mandatory decision on the establishment of the International Tribunal on the Boeing-777 crash. This was told by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin on air on the TV channel ICTV, Joinfo.ua reports.

According to him, the consideration of this issue at the UN General Assembly will provide a political solution, but it will not have binding force.

He is confident that the scheme of creating an international tribunal ‘will be found.’ ‘The idea of the tribunal is the idea of an independent body accountable to the UN Security Council. If Russia does not want to create it, then it admits its fault. But this a political admission. The idea of establishing a tribunal by the Security Council is very important because it will ensure that its decisions will be binding,” Klimkin explained.

According to Klimkin, that at the moment there is being considered the initiative of putting the issue at the UN General Assembly, but it will only be a “political admission” and Ukraine and its partners want to make the decision of the tribunal to be binding.
