The U.S. will continue assisting Ukraine in training its armed forces. It was stated by the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt.
“We will continue to provide non-lethal systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles and SUVs,” said Pyatt.
The Ambassador noted that the U.S. had provided assistance in the field of security, the amount of which has reached $ 244 million. It includes night vision devices, secure communication systems and jeeps.
“When I met with the leadership of ATO, I was very glad to hear how effectively they were able to use the anti-mortar radars provided by the U.S.,” said Pyatt.
The ambassador believes that training of the Ukrainian military on the military ground in Yavoriv, Lviv region was the most valuable support the U.S. has given to Ukraine. In addition, the United States provides a major program of economic aid.
“I want to make clear that we strongly support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in this military aggression carried out by Russia,” said the diplomat.
Pyatt believes that the Ukrainian army is becoming more capable of protecting itself from the Russian troops and terrorists. Answering the question of whether the Minsk agreements have items that have never been made public, the Ambassador said that there were none.
