The United Nations has registered two cases of veto in the Security Council within one month, and both of them are connected with Russia. It is stated in the messages of the organization on Twitter, Joinfo.ua reports.
“In July 2015 – for the first time since March 1997 – the UN Security Council has registered two vetoes within one calendar month,” the report says.
“July 8 Russia blocked the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, and July 29 – Resolution on the establishment of the tribunal on Boeing,” the UN notes.
It should be recalled that yesterday the UN Security Council did not approve the resolution for the establishment of the tribunal to investigate the Boeing-777 crash, since Russia’s Permanent Representative Vitaly Churkin vetoed it.
