The head of North Korea Kim Jong-un visited the exercise of the Air Force of North Korea, which he called “a preparation for war with the United States and South Korea”, reports Joinfo.ua.
According to the KCNA news agency, Kim Jong-un stated it after his visit to the Kalma air base near the port city of Wonsan on the east coast of the country.
The exercise called ‘Combat Aeronautics Contest’ was held in honor of the 62nd anniversary of signing the armistice at the end of the 1950-1953 Korean War.
The contest was intended to “bring about a radical turn in the drills to round off preparations for a war full of the will to settle with arms accounts with the U.S. imperialists, the chieftain of aggression, and the South Korean puppet group keen to escalate the confrontation with the fellow countrymen and that of social systems, seized with sycophancy toward the U.S.,” KCNA quotes Kim Jong-un.
During his speech, chief of the General Staff of the North’s military, Army Gen. Ri Yong-gil, stressed that the Korean peninsula was on the brink of war, just as it was 65 years ago. He also accused the United States and the Republic of Korea of continuing “distortions and reckless war plots.”
It should be noted that the anniversary of the end of the Korean War is celebrated on July 27.
