The Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said she intended to prevent vetoing of the UN Security Council resolution on the Malaysian airliner Boeing-777 shot down over the Donbas, Joinfo.ua reports referring to the foreign media.

The Foreign Minister of Australia is planning to convince the Russian President Vladimir Putin and her allies to establish the UN tribunal on investigation into the Boeing-777 crash. “We cannot allow a veto in the United Nations Security Council to avoid justice,” she said. Bishop disagrees with Russia about the haste in the creation of the tribunal.

“If that were Russia’s concern then I would expect that Russia would abstain, but I will be advocating for a unanimous resolution,” said Julia Bishop. “Any further delay sends a very bad message to the increasing number of non-state actors who are capable of such an atrocity. The international community needs to be utterly united in condemning any attack on civilian airlines in commercial airspace,” the Foreign Minister of Australia added.
