Decommunization in Ukraine is gaining legal force. The Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko put his signature under the decision to ban the Communist Party in the country. It was announced today by the Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksandr Turchinov during the briefing on the prohibition of the Communist Party, Joinfo.ua reports.

“I believe that today is the day of historical justice. Today, in accordance with the law (the package of laws on decommunization – Ed.) adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, the Minister of Justice signed a decision, according to which the Communist parties existing today in our country, will lose the right to be the subject of political and electoral processes,” he said.

It should be recalled that on May 15, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed four laws on decommunization.
