The former head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Valentyn Nalyvaychenko, told about his impressions after a visit to the United States, Joinfo.ua reports.

“I will not hide my satisfaction with all the meetings held (there were more than ten), and most importantly – with their content and results.

Actually, I think the main result is that all of our American partners, and I will discuss them further, confirmed their support of our efforts in the fight against corruption “at the highest levels.” The U.S. side is our ally in this struggle.

The fact that that corruption can corrode Ukraine as rust, was noted by all our interlocutors, especially detailed was the Coordinator of the U.S. State Department on Sanctions Policy, Ambassador Daniel Fried,” Valentyn Nalyvaychenko wrote on his Facebook.

“His ‘corruption can kill you’ sounded as tough as a sentence, or a disappointing conclusion of the doctor…” the former head of the Security Sevoce continues. “The talk with Fried was also interesting by the fact that he is not only a devoted friend of Ukraine, but a good American specialist in THE matters of sanctions. I had the opportunity to make sure that in case of escalation of aggression by Russia, the response of the U.S. will be decisive, and the sanctions against the Russian Federation will be imposed immediately. A list of additional sanctions is prepared, all the mechanisms are designed and prepared for use. ”

According to Valentyn Nalyvaychenko, Fried said very important things: the U.S. is ready to help Ukraine, and it will, but no one except for Ukraine will be able to overcome the internal and external aggressor and conduct reforms! This is our “home task”.

The conversation with the Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland also confirmed a clear and unequivocal position on topical issues of the Ukrainian present.

“Using the opportunity, I thanked her personally for the consistent support of Ukraine with these words: the U.S. has always resolutely and unconditionally supported Ukraine and Ukrainian people, especially in difficult times, and we appreciate it!

A lot of time was also devoted to the discussion of creation of the International Tribunal for the investigation into the terrorist attack, which killed the passengers and crew of the Boeing-777. This attack must be investigated completely, and those, who shot, who conceals the truth, must be brought to justice.

Also, I want to emphasize very useful meetings with congressmen Dave Trott, Randy Weber, Marcy Kaptur … I also had a number of private meetings on the issues of national security.

Well, I can not but thank Myroslava Gongadze, whom I know and deeply respect since the time when she was forced to choose American land as a refuge.

I thank my team for today and our work together!” Valentyn Nalyvaychenko concluded.
