According to Novikov, Savchenko’ defense has come to the conclusion that in late August, “everything will be over, the beginning of September is a deadline,” Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Radio Svoboda.
“Since March, there has been a sharp acceleration (in consideration of the case – Ed.), and all decisions are made as quickly as possible, and it seems that they want to conduct the process “in the off season”: while people are on vacation and the interest of press to this issue is weakened,” the lawyer said.
Novikov said that there were held negotiations about the exchange of Savchenko for two Russian prisoners – Aleksandrov and Yerofeyev. “I know that such talks are ongoing. They have been in the past, the difference is that now we have specific candidates: two Russian servicemen Aleksandrov and Yerofeyev. We can not know what negotiations are held non-publicly, and it makes it difficult to say whether it is likely or not,” the lawyer said.
Earlier, the lawyer Mark Feygin said that the trial of Nadiya Savchenko might be held at the place of the “crime” – in Rostov.
