The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which will start to meet next week in Helsinki, may deprive the Russian delegation of a leader. Back in May, Sergei Naryshkin, the head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, announced his intention to head the Russian delegation at the session in Helsinki. However, in March 2014, the EU Council banned Naryshkin from entering the European Union countries, and after that the ban has not been lifted, Joinfo.ua reports.

Several parliamentary correspondents of the Russian media, who usually accompany the Speaker of the State Duma, told the Russian service of Voice of America that the preparation for the visit of Sergei Naryshkin to Helsinki was suspended due to uncertainty regarding Finland’s ability to agree with the governing bodies of the European Union on the issue of admission of the Russian politician, who is under the action of sanctions, to their territory. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session will be held in Helsinki from July 5 to 9.

Earlier, Sergei Naryshkin, already being under sanctions, was allowed to visit France twice for activities relating to the Council of Europe. However, after that the Russian government has set up its own “black list” of the European parliamentarians.

Earlier we reported that military experts had published a scenario of relations between NATO and Russia.
