Gen. Philip Breedlove said that Putin was not done in eastern Ukraine. This is evidenced by the fact that Russia is increasing the number of weapons on the border with Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Reuters.
According to him, the border between Ukraine and Russia is “wide open”, allowing free movement of military equipment and supplies.
“I do not think that Mr. Putin is done in eastern Ukraine,” Breedlove said and added that the ambitions Putin had in relation to the region were not quenched.
He also noted that NATO had observed in Russia a “stocking of important supplies, ammunition, etc, to levels that would support operations.” “We see a force that has been trained, that is led by Russian leadership, … and is ready to do whatever mission is required of it in the Donbas (region),” Breedlove said.
It should be recalled that on April 30, at the opening of the Armed Services Committee of the U.S. Senate, Breedlove said that Russia was likely to use the truce to prepare for the offensive in eastern Ukraine.
However, experts believe that President Putin will get what he opposes so vehemently, – NATO near the borders of his country.
