The NATO Secretary General announced the holding of military exercise involving NATO in Ukraine this summer, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Polskie Radio.
According to Stoltenberg, NATO is increasing assistance to Ukraine: there will be created six trust funds for the Ukrainian army. Those that have existed so far have collected money for the modernization of the army, and among other things, included the expenses for the command, the fight against cyber-attacks, and logistics.
“We decided to create a new trust fund. We are working on the details, but it will certainly provide funds for mine clearance and against mine traps. It is important because it saves lives,” Stoltenberg said.
NATO Secretary General also admitted that the Minsk agreements were not met, but they were the only way to calm tensions in the Donbas.
It should be recalled that after a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Brussels the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Stepan Poltorak said that NATO would reconsider the issue of granting Ukraine lethal weapon if Russia continued violating the Minsk Agreement.
