According to Peskov, the sanctions against the European Union will be extended "very quickly", it is only necessary "to fulfill the bureaucratic procedures to document those decisions," Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Russian media.
"Yes, they (the propositions of the Russian government to extend the food embargo) are being worked out in the presidential administration. Very quickly, we expect that the studies will be completed and there will be issued the document," Peskov said.
"The principle of mutuality is the foundation of our approach," the spokesman for the Kremlin said.
It should be recalled that earlier, on June 22, the EU Council at the level of foreign ministers extended the economic sanctions against Russia for six months. The decision came into force on June 23 and will have effect until January 31, 2016.
