Sanctions against Russia are just one of the ways to maintain pressure on Russia, and these measures are insufficient, says Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Die Presse.
"There is another option, and I do not understand why it has not been used yet: political isolation. I do not mean that we should sever all contacts. Those at the working level should be continued. But I do not understand why high-level meetings are held for no reason and without any result. It seems that things are going on as usual," said Linkevičius.
The Head of Lithuania's diplomacy also said that the country was interested in the broader military presence of the U.S. Armed Forces on its territory.
Linkevičius is convinced that Europe must not forget the nuclear parity. "We have to maintain sufficient capacity of nuclear weapons in Europe," he said.
