The Ministry of Defense of Poland declared its readiness to deploy military equipment of the United States in its territory. It was stated by Tomasz Siemoniak, the Minister of National Defence, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Polskie Radio.
"From the logistic and organizational point of view we are ready, we expect Washington's decision in this matter. We hope that this decision will be made in the coming weeks, and it will be positive," Siemoniak said.
He also recalled that in May he had spoken to Ashton Carter, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, about the deployment of military equipment for one brigade in five NATO countries.
"NATO has to do its own thing, not pay attention to who says and what is said at our borders. We appreciate Russia not by its words, but by its deeds, and these actions over the past year and a half have not filled us with optimism. The annexation of Crimea and actions in Ukraine have caused concern among the countries of Central Europe," the Head of the Polish Defense Ministry added.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had decided to deploy the Russian S-300 at the borders with NATO.
