According to the foreign media reports, the European Union may impose new sanctions against Russia at a meeting in Luxembourg on June 22 without discussion, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to The Wall Street Journal.
In the first place, it was supposed to consider the sanctions at the summit in Brussels on June 25-26. But right now, most likely, the decision to extend the sanctions can be made at the meeting of EU foreign ministers on June 22 and without any discussion, the newspaper notes.
Ambassadors of the EU countries are going to discuss the topic of anti-Russian sanctions this week. It is noted that back in March, the European Union decided to link the sanctions against Russia to the full implementation of the Minsk Agreement.
On the eve, during her visit to Kyiv, Samantha Power, the US representative to the United Nations, said the lifting of sanctions against Russia was possible only after the return of the Crimean peninsula to Ukraine.
