Vladimir Putin "contributes": Italy ratifies EU-Ukraine Association Agreement

Klimkin noted that the Agreement was ratified only by the Chamber of Deputies. The document must be also approved by the Italian Senate, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Russian media.

"The Chamber of Deputies of Italy ratified the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. There is the Senate ahead, but the ice is broken. Grazie!" Klimkin wrote.

The minister also noted that such a positive shift in the ratification of the Agreement took place immediately after the visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Italy. "A certain positive follow-up of the Russian President's visit to Italy," Klimkin said.

It should be recalled that on the eve, Putin visited the Milan exhibition "Expo 2015", celebrating the Day of Russia. In addition, he held meetings with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Pope Francis.

The Pope recommended that the Russian leader be sincere on the issue of establishing peace in the Donbas.
