Estonia is planning to set up 760 boundary pillars and 412 buoys on the water border with Russia. It is reported by Joinfo.ua with reference to the Estonian edition ERR.ee.
In such a way the country wants to insure itself against false illegal border crossings. It should be noted that the 2015 budget of the Police and Border Guard provides 500 thousand euros on the border designation.
The pillars will be set up on the eastern border along the Narva River. Since 2017, their upkeep will cost about 372 million euros per year. In turn, the maintenance of the buoys will cost more than 205 thousand euro.
