The UK Government intends to deploy U.S. missiles with nuclear warheads in its country due to growing tensions with Russia. It was stated by Philip Hammond, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Daily Mail.
"We would look at the case. We work extremely closely with the Americans. That would be a decision that we would make together if that proposition was on the table. We have got to send a clear signal to Russia that we will not allow them to transgress our red lines," Hammond said on Sunday.
The main British diplomat also expressed concern about the increased activity of the Russian armed forces and Russia's intentions to deploy cruise missiles in Kaliningrad.
It should be recalled that the British Prime Minister David Cameron said that the ministers supporting Britain's withdrawal from the EU would have to resign.
"I've been very clear. If you want to be part of the Government, you have to take the view that we are engaged in an exercise of renegotiation, to have a referendum, and that will lead to a successful outcome," said the Prime Minister in his speech at the G7 conference in Germany.
