The Government of Canada would allocate $ 5 million for training Ukrainian police, said the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk after the meeting with his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper, who arrived in Kyiv on Saturday for an official visit, Joinfo.ua reports.
"Canada has decided to allocate $ 5 million for training new Ukrainian patrol police. This is a real help for Ukraine to become a strong and safe country," Yatsenyuk said.
According to him, Ukraine is waiting for the arrival of the Canadian military, who will train the National Guard of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister thanked the government and people of Canada, as well as Stephen Harper personally for their support of Ukraine.
"Canada is one of the strongest allies of Ukraine," Yatsenyuk said.
