Three days before the opening of the G7 summit in the Baltics, in the territorial waters of Poland, Sweden and Germany NATO starts large-scale naval exercises BALTOPS 2015, Joinfo.ua informs.

The naval maneuvers, which will last until June 20, will involve 5, 600 servicemen from 17 members and partners of NATO, 49 ships, 61 aircraft and a submarine.

General control over the exercises is entrusted to the European Department of the Sixth U.S. Navy (Naples Headquarters).

Earlier in Estonia, as part of the largest military exercises in its territory entitled Siil 2015, Allies practiced fighting in the air.

It should be recalled that the joint Georgian-American exercises of the rapid reaction forces called Noble Partner were held at the military airport and training ground Vaziani not far from Tbilisi.

Also, NATO countries began military exercises Platinum Eagle 2015 in Romania.
