U.S. dissolves contract with champion from Russia because of her trips to Donbas

16-year-old Russian powerlifting champion Maryana Naumova lost her contract with an American company for the production of sports food, which dissolved the sponsorship agreement, Joinfo.ua reports.

According to the father of Naumova, the company took such a measure because of the complaints from users of social networks, who were outraged by the girl's visits to the militants in the Donbas.

"Before that we have been written in the social network about complaints to the organizers of the competition, to our company-sponsor and, apparently, they have produced effect. They don't want to see us there anymore," the father said.

According to preliminary information, Maryana was included in the "terrorist list" drawn up by the Security Service, said the father of the girl. Therefore, we are afraid that there may be problems with trips to competitions in the United States.

Maryana Naumova is the owner of more than 20 world records for women in bench pressing. Maryana has become the first teenage girl in the world allowed to take part in professional competitions in powerlifting.

It is known that she has repeatedly visited Donetsk and Luhansk occupied by the militants.
