Peskov: militants’ attack near Marinka is provocation of Ukraine before G7 summit

Ukrainian authorities are trying to destabilize the situation in the Donbas shortly before the G7 summit. Such an opinion was expressed by the Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Dmitry Peskov

According to Peskov, Ukraine is the one to blame for the fact that the Donbas insurgents began to storm the Ukrainian troops near Marinka and Krasnohorivka. He believes that it is Kyiv, who destabilizes the situation, and the Kremlin is strongly concerned about it, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Russian media.

"Here we can see an obvious attempt to destabilize (the situation), to provoke tensions. These provocative actions are organized by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are really concerned about it," said Peskov.

"Earlier, against the backdrop of the same major international events, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly taken such actions to heighten tensions. It has happened and we are seriously concerned about the next repetition of such activity," surprised Peskov.

Peskov also began to appeal to the OSCE, urging the organization to draw conclusions about those violations of the Minsk agreements. "Violations are obvious and the minister (Foreign Minister Sergey) Lavrov has already said that there the OSCE's representatives should draw the appropriate conclusions and clearly define who is responsible for these violations," he stressed.

According to Peskov, it is obvious that when the territory and settlements in the Donbas are shelled, of course, it is clear where the fire is going from. He said he did not want to "go into details."
