Bratislava promises to preserve ‘reverse’ gas supply to Ukraine and maintain sanctions against Russia

The parties have coordinated their positions regarding key issues of bilateral relations. The leaders of Ukraine and Slovakia have discussed a wide range of issues of economic cooperation, including energy component and aspects of natural gas transit. The Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic confirmed his country's intention to preserve the volume of reverse gas supplies to Ukraine.

Discussing the situation in the Donbas, Petro Poroshenko and Robert Fico have noted the absence of significant de-escalation, which had been clearly confirmed by the OSCE SMM.

Robert Fico confirmed that Slovakia, as a responsible state, would continue to support the unity of the European Union in the issue of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainian President and the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic also agreed that the efficient implementation of the Peace Plan in the Donbas needed additional efforts.
