Kolomoyskyi believes that Saakashvili was appointed as a temporal governor, as he can cede Odessa to the Russians, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to LB.ua.
"I was surprised about Saakashvili's appointment. I think he is a temporary figure. He will hand over Odessa to Russia, and then we will have to win it again. He will serve as governor for some time, and then he will be replaced by some nonentity like Honcharenko," he said.
Kolomoyskyi also noted that Ihor Palytsia had not written a letter of resignation from his post as the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration on his own. As it is known, governors are appointed and dismissed by the President. Answering the question of how Palytsia met with the head of state, Kolomoyskyi responded: "The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. He was thanked for his work and said that his services were no longer needed."
However, according to the businessman, at the time of his arrival to the Presidential Administration, Palytsia did not know he would be replaced by Saakashvili. "By the way, I have a question: how many citizenships does he have? He will probably surpass me. American, Georgian, Dutch, any now he should receive Ukrainian," Kolomoyskyi said.
It should be recalled that Ihor Palytsia is considered the man from Kolomoyskyi's entourage and was appointed as the governor on May 6, 2014. Earlier, on May 29, it became known about the appointment of ex-Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to this post.
