Russian Foreign Ministry scares citizens with U.S. Department of State and asks not to go to America and abroad at all

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation informed the Russians about the threat to be detained or arrested in the third countries at the request of law enforcement bodies and special services of the United States, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

"Despite our calls to Washington to establish normal cooperation between law enforcement agencies on the basis of Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (of 1999), the U.S. authorities continue conducting unacceptable practice of "hunting" for the Russians all over the world, ignoring international law and twisting arms of other countries. The number of such cases has exceeded by fifteen times," stressed in the Foreign Ministry.

Among the last examples of the "atrocities" of the U.S. Department of State, the ministry called the extradition of Dmitry Belorossov and Vadim Polyakov by Spain to the Americans and extradition of Vladimir Drinkman from the Netherlands to the United States.

"Believing in permissiveness, Washington comes to the abduction of our citizens. That is what happened to Roman Seleznyov, who was literally kidnapped from the Maldives by the U.S agents in July 2014 and forcibly transported to the United States, where he has been held in custody awaiting trial," the Foreign Ministry complains.

The Foreign Ministry assures that, of course, they have and will continue to provide distressed Russians with necessary consular and legal assistance, ensuring unconditional respect for their legitimate rights and interests, as well as a speedy return home. However, given the circumstances mentioned, when planning trips abroad, the ministry asked the Russians to carefully weigh all the risks, especially if there is a reason to suspect claims against them by the American law enforcement agencies.
