During the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the press service of the Head of State.
The parties discussed the situation in the Donbas, and reiterated the need to implement all points of the Minsk agreements, especially the cease-fire, withdrawal of heavy weapons and release of all hostages.
President drew attention to the lack of progress in the liberation of hostages, including Nadiya Savchenko, who is illegally detained in Russia.
Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande coordinated efforts on the eve of the G7 meeting, which will be held in Munich in June.
Earlier, President Poroshenko congratulated the Prime Minister of Canada on victory in the World Hockey Championship and invited to visit.
