Yesterday, the Eastern Partnership summit began its work in Riga, where Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, said that economic assistance was the priority issue in relations between the EU and Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports.
"With regard to the EU strategy towards Ukraine – we need decisions today. The first decision needed is the investments for economic growth of the country and job creation," he said.
In addition, Schultz pointed out that there was needed the long-term strategy, aimed at the greatest possible convergence of the eastern neighbors and the European Union.
Yesterday, the Eastern Partnership Summit of the European People's Party condemned the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine, including annexation of Ukrainian Crimea.
