The President of Ukraine held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Canada, Joinfo.ua reports referring to the press service of the President.
The two parties discussed the latest developments in the Donbas. Poroshenko expressed gratitude for the assistance Canada has provided to Ukraine, in particular, for its decision to send military instructors to Ukraine and supply several batches of military equipment.
"We always feel your friendly shoulder," said the President.
Prime Minister Harper said that Ukraine could continue to count on Canada.
The two sides coordinated their positions on th eve of the G7 meeting, which will be held in Germany in June.
Petro Poroshenko invited Stephen Harper to visit Kyiv in the near future. Prime Minister of Canada accepted the invitation.
During the call, there were also discussed a number of issues of Ukrainian-Canadian relations.
On this occasion, the President of Ukraine congratulated the Canadians on a convincing victory of their national team at the World Hockey Championship.
