At the meeting of the EU Military Committee, Viktor Muzhenko, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, presented new evidence of participation of the Russian regular army in the war in the Donbas, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Radio Svoboda.

"I raised the issue of detention of two Russian military men, who were fighting in Ukraine. But it was not subject to discussion. It was perceived as the fact of existence of Russian troops in the occupied territories of Ukraine," said Victor Muzhenko.

Muzhenko stressed that he had discussed the possibility of military-technical cooperation with the European counterparts, but had not specified the nature of this cooperation.

"We thanked the EU for its support in the hope that our cooperation will continue. I think that the words spoken in support for Ukraine and readiness for such support will be implemented, including by obtaining materiel supplies," Viktor Muzhenko.

The EU Military Committee says that the Ukrainian Chief was heard. Now they think about how to cooperate with Ukraine in the future.

Patrick de Rousiers, the Chairman of the EU Military Committee, said: "We discussed how to build future cooperation between the military from the EU and Ukraine. Its troops have already participated in military exercises together with us, and they plan to do it in 2016".

Among other things, the military of the EU and Ukraine agreed on the preparation and training of Ukrainian soldiers by the experts from the EU armies.
