Poroshenko: We are at war with Russia, and detained dozens of Russian military personnel

In interview to BBC, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said the Ukrainian soldiers had detained dozens of Russian military men taking part in hostilities in the Donbas against the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Let us be candid – we don't make war on the Russia-backed separatists. It is a real war with Russia. Today, we detained two Russian soldiers, a few weeks and a month ago, we captured 20 and 60 Russian special forces soldiers respectively. This is another strong proof," said Poroshenko.

Poroshenko noted that prisoners were treated in accordance with all humanitarian norms. These provide access for all humanitarian organizations.

"They were already visited by representatives of the OSCE and the Red Cross. What other grounds do we need to give to the world? However, the world believe us anyway. What other grounds do we have to give Russia that it is its own soldiers, its regular forces, its war and aggression?" asks the President.
