NATO countries start large-scale military exercises near Ukrainian border

NATO countries began regular military exercise near the border of Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports. Exercise Platinum Eagle 2015 is held at Babadag Training Area in Romania. The exercise involves the military units of the U.S. and Bulgarian armies. It was announced by Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren.

"Exercise Platinum Eagle 2015 is a multinational exercise at Babadag Training Area, Romania, designed to demonstrate the capabilities of NATO allies in Eastern Europe," said the member of the U.S. defense department.

According to him, the military will train basic infantry skills, advanced marksmanship, company-level command and control and the use of anti-armor weapons systems.
