U.S. Department of State has reported on the visit of U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Victoria Nuland in Moscow. So, the meeting with representatives of the Russian authorities did not give significant results, said State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke, Joinfo.ua reports.
He noted that the main purpose of the visit of Nuland was to discuss further steps on implementation of the Minsk agreements with Russian authorities.
But the talks in Moscow did not bring significant results in the issue of de-escalation of the military conflict in the Donbas.
"Nuland was in Moscow to discuss the next steps in implementation of the Minsk Agreement. We don't have a breakthrough we can talk about but these steps are an attempt to continue the discussions U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry held in Sochi," said Rathke.
Earlier, during her visit to Kyiv Victoria Nuland reported that the U.S. would be more actively involved in resolving the situation in the Donbas.
