President Poroshenko posthumously awards 220 ATO servicemen

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded 220 servicemen and law enforcement officers (posthumously), who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

President Poroshenko posthumously awards 220 ATO servicemen

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded 220 militaries and law enforcement officers (posthumously), who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The relevant presidential decree was signed on May 15, reports Joinfo.ua referring to the press service of the Head of State.

All the servicemen awarded were killed during the hostilities in the area of the antiterrorist operation within the period of autumn 2014 – spring 2015, inter alia, in the battles near Donetsk, Avdiivka, Debaltseve.

There were posthumously awarded 201 militaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 36 of them – with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of III level, 164 – with the Order "For courage" of III degree, 1 soldier – with the Order of Danylo Halitsky. Another 19 dead, who served in the units of the Interior Ministry, received the Order "For courage" of III degree.
