Poroshenko reminds Hollande that Ukraine is waiting for EU peacekeepers

At the meeting in Aachen with French President Francois Hollande, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko discussed the deployment of a peacekeeping mission in the Donbas.

The two parties discussed the situation in the Donbas, particularly, in the context of deployment of the peacekeeping mission, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the press service of the Head of State.

Poroshenko stressed that Ukraine fully implemented all the items of the Minsk agreements, while the militants were violating the ceasefire. "The French President has declared support to additional measures aimed at the implementation of the Minsk agreements," the press service of the President informs.

According to Poroshenko, Ukraine appreciates France's support in promotion of peaceful process.

The presidents also discussed Ukraine's progress towards European integration. Poroshenko expressed his hope that the May summit of the "Eastern Partnership" would result in a positive evaluation of Ukraine's efforts aimed at the introduction of visa-free regime with the EU.

Earlier, Poroshenko said that if Ukraine wanted to stop the aggressor, it would need the support of a peacekeeping mission under UN auspices.
