The Department of State reports that today, May 11, Kerry will fly to Sochi to meet with Vladimir Putin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other Russian officials, Joinfo.ua reports.
At the meeting with the leader of Russia Kerry will discuss "a full range of bilateral and regional issues, including Iran, Syria, and Ukraine."
"This trip is part of our ongoing effort to maintain direct lines of communication with senior Russian officials and to ensure U.S. views are clearly conveyed," the Department of State informs.
Then Kerry will go to Antalya (Turkey), where he will participate in a meeting with NATO partners on May 13.
Earlier, the political scientist Pavlo Nuss noted that Putin would not start a full-fledged war Ukraine, because the Ukrainian army had transformed into one of the elite and the most powerful armies in the world.
