Trilateral Contact Group to meet with separatists on May 6 in Minsk

The Trilateral Contact Group on the resolution of the situation in the Donbas will hold a meeting on May 5. The next day, its members will meet with representatives of the pro-Russian separatists in Minsk.

Dariia Olifer, a press spokeswoman for Leonid Kuchma, announced that the members of the Trilateral Contact Group on the resolution of the situation in the Donbas, i.e. Heidi Tagliavini, a representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Leonid Kuchma, a representative of Ukraine, and Azamat Kulmukhametov, a representative of Russia, would meet on Tuesday, May 5. "It is expected that on May 6 in Minsk there will be held a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group with representatives of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR," she wrote on Facebook, DW reports.

According to the Interfax news agency, Alexander Zakharchenko, the head of the self-proclaimed "DPR" doubts the positive outcome of the Minsk meeting, scheduled for May 6. According to him, the representatives of the so-called "republics" insist on consideration of economic and political issues "as a whole."
