Russian citizen arrested in Lithuania for spying

A Russian citizen, born in 1977, was detained in Lithuania on suspicion of espionage.

A citizen of the Russian Federation, whose name remains unrevealed, was arrested on April 29, Joinfo.ua reports referring to the General Prosecutor's Office of Lithuania.

According to the ministry, he is a member of the FSB, who conducted intelligence operations in Lithuania for the purpose of entry into Lithuanian power structures.

On April 30, the Vilnius District Court granted the prosecutor's request and placed the suspect under arrest for three months.

It should be recalled that in January this year, Federal prosecutors in the United States announced the suspicion against three Russians suspected of setting up an international espionage organization with headquarters in New York.
