Komorowski approves creation of Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade

Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski signed the law, which gives him the right to ratify the agreement on creating a joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade, called LITPOLUKRBRIG, in 2 weeks. It was reported today by the President's Office.

Komorowski signed the law, which gives him the authority to ratify the agreement on the formation of the LITPOLUKRBRIG brigade, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Polskie Radio.

The law was signed on Saturday, May 2, but it was announced today. The law will come into force in two weeks after its announcement. Then Komorowski will ratify the agreement itself.

To date, there is carried out the work on the technical agreement between Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania. When it is signed, the working groups will be able to start defining the specific structure of the brigade.

In February, Tomasz Siemoniak, the Minister of Defense of Poland, expressed his hope that the brigade would conduct joint exercises in the fall.

Earlier, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Poland stated that the Polish Army would take part in training the Ukrainian soldiers and officers at the proving grounds Desna and Yavoriv.
