Groysman: Ukraine protects not only its own territory, but eastern border of EU

Volodymyr Groysman, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, thanked Poland for its support and at the same time reminded that the conflict in Ukraine affected the security of the entire European Union.

According to Groysman, in the east Ukraine protects not just its own territory, but the borders of the EU, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Polskie Radio.

"I want to emphasize that today the issue of Russian military aggression against Ukraine is already gone beyond the confines of Ukraine. It is not the problem of the eastern border of Ukraine, it is the problem of the eastern border of the EU. We do everything to fulfill the provisions recorded in the Minsk Agreement," said the Chairman of VR.

In turn, Radoslaw Sikorski, the Marshal of the Sejm of Poland, says that Ukraine today is fighting for its borders, for the possibility of independent development. According to Sikorski, Poland requires compliance with the agreements concluded in Minsk.

He recalled the words of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland that if the Minsk agreements were violated by the separatists, Poland would consider the possibility of supporting Ukraine's defense capability. "It is a very important statement and I wish it was not necessary to implement it. I hope it was heard in the Kremlin," said Sikorski.

According to him, Poland is "keeping its fingers crossed" for reforms in Ukraine.

It should be recalled that Volodymyr Groysman, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, came to Poland with a two-day visit. Besides meeting with the Marshal of the Sejm and Senate, the head of the Ukrainian parliament will hold a conversation with the Prime Minister Eva Kopacz.
